Natalie is a registered dietitian with a passion for supporting individuals while they explore their beliefs and attitudes toward food and assisting in the process of normalizing eating behaviors. Natalie has experience treating individuals with eating disorders within residential, partial hospitalization, as well as in-person and virtual intensive outpatient levels of care.
Natalie began her journey in dietetics while obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Science with an emphasis in Dietetics from California State University, Chico (CSU, Chico). She then went on to obtain her Master’s of Science degree in Nutrition Education at CSU, Chico. During her years in Chico Natalie was introduced to a non-diet approach to health along with intuitive eating. Stepping away from the common diet approaches to health and learning more about non-diet approaches quickly became something that Natalie felt made sense, not only scientifically but within her own personal experiences with life and food. This quickly became something Natalie was passionate about and wanted to share with others. While at CSU, Chico Natalie was influential in a campus club that promoted Health at Every Size (R), Intuitive eating and non-diet approaches to health and wellness. From there Natalie completed her dietetic internship to obtain 1200 hours of supervised practice through CSU, Chico as well. At the start of her internship rotations, Natalie thought she would want to follow in the path of clinical dietetics and become a dietitian at a hospital. However, slowly Natalie realized that she always wanted to establish a connection with individuals and really get to know them and be able to support their long-term goals. Natalie participated in an elective rotation at an eating disorder treatment facility and realized this work was what she wanted to do. Natalie has identified that she loves the ability to help individuals feel less afraid of food and to be able to honor and trust their bodies. Natalie is a HAES-informed practitioner and uses non-diet approaches to health and wellness, regardless of if you are seeking help for an eating disorder or support with chronic disease.
Natalie is located outside of Chico, California however is able to practice as a licensed registered dietitian in Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana and Ohio; Natalie is also able to provide services within all states that do not have licensing requirements for registered dietitians (which includes California).
